Please note: All material posted on this site is of a romantic nature. There are no explicit descriptions of sexual activity, however, there IS reference to the fact that such activity goes on in most of the stories. Typically, this will be no racier than what might be seen on a daytime soap opera. Still, if this offends you, we suggest that you look elsewhere for your entertainment.

All stories posted are, unless specifically indentified, works of fiction. There is no intentional reference to any actual person, living or dead, and any such reference is completely coincidental and unintentional.

A bit of History...

Many people who have visited the Secret Garden for years have wondered about everything relating to it. Let's begin with a bit of history.

The Secret Garden began in 1997 when a site called "Ampmen" went belly up. This site had posted a collection of very high quality male amputee pictures from the previous paralympics, and many male devotees around the world were horrified when it just disappeared one day without warning. The webmaster here had downloaded all of the pictures, and put them up in a secret directory behind another site being hosted, hence the name: The Secret Garden. What followed was nothing short of miraculous. The image collection began to grow by 20-30 images PER WEEK as amputee devotees from around the world began contributing their collections to the online community!

This was the early days of the web. Before all of the instant messanger programs came into being, the Secret Garden Chatroom gave a place for Male Amputee Devotees to meet, hang out, and get to know one another. There were even a sizable number of amputees who frequented the site before the ampunazis made it politically incorrect for amputees to "like" devotees.

Within six months of it's formation, people started contributing Male Amputee Fiction to the site, and this became a popular feature. By 1998 the collection of amputee men pictures was over 5000 strong and the amputee story collection boasted over 250 entries!

But success comes at a price. As more and more devotees flocked to the Garden, one of the more vicious of the militant amputees on the net set sites on us, and threatened legal action if pictures that they claimed ownership of were not removed. This person also notified several other amputees that their pictures were also posted on our site. Although the vast majority of the pictures were here legally (having been taken in public places) it was clear that the harassment was going to go on and on. We pulled the picture collection, and for about six months, the site was dark.

Enter 1999. The site reopened with the emphasis on Male Amputee Fiction, and the name was changed to Secret Garden Stories. The collection continues to grow to this day and is now over 600 stories strong, including over 20 full-length novels!

It was clear that the page patrons wanted amputee images. We tried any number of plans. For a time the image gallery was reposted, but again, harassment from the militant amputee community made it counter-productive. For several years, there was a gallery of Electronic Surgery Male Amputee pictures, but that ran afoul of the original images being owned by someone else, and the legal owners, understandably, wanted them removed.

Finally in 2006, the decission was made to enter upon the Male Amputee Rendering project. This project uses an art program to create amputee images of imaginary people the copyright to which is held by the site. In this way, we are now able to offer our patrons the visual experience they seek without infringing on anyone elses copyright, or subjecting any real person to unwanted scruitny.

In February of 2008 it became clear that reading was no longer the passion of a great many people, and the site was placed in semi-retirement. (see Goodbye Message here) The fiction collection will remain here and, hopefully, continue to grow, but the webmaster is no longer spending a lot of time maintaining it. We invite you to visit our new project: Ampgfx, and for non-amputee sensual art search for the basicwiz gallery at Renderotica.
